When Pablo Melendres was growing up in Dublin, his father, Lolo Salinas, encouraged him to become a welder. “He said it was a good honest living,” Melendres said. Now, more than 20 years later, Melendres is a career welder. Melendres’ father, however, passed away in 2003.

Thanks to a quick response and cooperation from local agencies, a top 10 most wanted sex offender was arrested in Stephenville. “Within three hours, he was in custody,” said Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray, who was alerted to the sighting of Joseph Darwin Watson, 52, in Dublin on Aug. 18.

Dublin’s sales tax reportedly stayed consistent, collecting .13% more in sales tax returns reported in August than the same period last year. This is building off of already-strong numbers in August 2020 that were more than 12 percent higher than the year before.
