AgriLife Extension agents compiled the following report for the Central Texas district: Grain harvest was underway. Moisture levels were complicating grain harvest. Heavy dews, scattered showers, coupled with very high humidity slowed down the drying process in most corn and grain sorghum plants.

COVID Update - Aug. 19, 2021

Erath County officials reported that the county had 265 active cases of COVID-19 in its Thursday night report. This compares to an active case load of 257 reported last Thursday. The county report also showed that hospitalizations had risen from 14 at the end of last week to 18.

Dublin Market Days return Aug. 21

This Saturday, Wright Park, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be there for the Dublin Market. Be there for tasty treats, for unique gifts, for fun wearables, and/or local, fresh produce. Bring your friends. Market vendors will be offering up information and goods from one end of the park to the other.

Masonic Lodge hosting blood drive

The Stephenville Masonic Lodge #267 is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the lodge (244 S. Columbia, Stephenville). The blood drive will be conducted by Carter BloodCare. Masonic blood drives benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Rodeo set Sept. 11 at City Park

Diamond Cross Rodeo will present a UPRA/CPRA sanctioned rodeo at 7:30 p.m. in the Dublin City Park Arena. The event will feature award-winning rodeo clown Chase Nolan, a 9-11 Tribute and concessions. Tickets will be $10 to enter with free admission for kids 10 and under.

Dublin EDC to review audit, home improvement grants

The Dublin Economic Development Corp. will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the EDC office, 104 S. Patrick. Agenda items include approval of 2021-2022 budget and adoption of the 2018-2019 audit. Two Home Improvement Grant applications are also on the agenda. —submitted
