Nov. 11, 1921

R.S. Landers, the owner of the Cole Drug Company bought the Sweet Shop from W.A. Hickey and planned to consolidate the two businesses.

Olga Juniper, special inspector of the Fire Prevention department of the state Fire Marshal’s office was coming to Dublin to assess fire hazards and conditions in the city.

Nov. 8, 1946

Lewis McCarty, manager of Dublin’s modern Zero Locker Storage, invited the public to an open house on Nov. 14. The facility was set to start receiving meat from patrons on Nov. 15.

50 years ago

Nov. 11, 1971

Employees of Gulf States-United Telephone Co. had been busy in Dublin for several weeks stringing new cable from its central office to FM219 to upgrade service and replacing older lines.

Three Dublin High School students were honored at the District XV Future Teachers of America Convention. Btrent Brashear was selected to be the District XV Vice President for the school year; Susan Warren was chosen as a candidate for state Financial Secretary; and Mike Boucher was runner-up in the district’s Mr. FTA contest.

A.C. Martin was pictured filling in gaps in the exterior wall at the old Dublin Progress building as part of a blitz in which volunteers were being organized in cleaning, repairing and renovating the building as the Dublin museum.
