After more than 50 years of serving the local community, West Henry Feed Store is closing its doors to the public. The store has been owned by the Lawson family, who also own the adjacent Lawson Implement Co. and used the feed store for the set up of new equipment. Owners said that the decision to close West Henry was difficult but that the labor to service the feed and tire business was keeping workers behind.

Hico Police officer Wayne Edgin was pictured with the department’s new canine officer, “Bandit,” who recently completed narcotics training in Oklahoma City.
Bandit is a Belgian Malinois from Slovenia that was gifted to to Hico PD from the Virginia State Police.

Genesis Mendez and Riley Wilkerson were crowned queen and king at the annual Junior class Fall Festival.
The DeLeon Varsity Cross Country girls team of Jessica Otwell, Jenna Otwell, Daisy Otwell, Haley Reed, Tayla Rainwater, Claudia Chavez and Tayci Weaver traveled to the state meet on Friday after winning the Regional championship.

Comanche High School and H.R. Jefferies Junior High are hosting the 21st annual Veterans Day program today (Thursday, Nov. 11). A reception for Veterans and spouses will be at 8:45 a.m. in the High School Commons. Following the program, a hamburger lunch will be provided for Veterans, law enforcement and volunteer fire personnel at the Comanche First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Nearly 1,000 kids gathered at the Comanche Courthouse Square on Oct. 30 for the annual trunk or treat sponsored by the Comanche Chamber of Commerce.
