Golf boys place 5th in Glen Rose

DHS kicked off its golf season at the Squaw Valley tournament in Glen Rose Tuesday, Feb. 25.The boys placed 5th out of 11 teams, thanks in part to first year varsity golfer Kaden Gaitan who shot a 76 and earned 4th place individual in the tourney.Hayden Millburn followed with 90.

Lions end season in bidistrict playoffs

“If I could put the season into one word it would be “compete,” said Dublin Lions head basketball coach Wes Grisham following the end of their season in the bidistrict playoffs Feb. 19.The game was rescheduled from Feb. 18 due to bad weather in Mineral Wells the night before.

The Dublin Lions moved to 9-5 and 3rd place outright in District as they headed into playoffs this week.This placement followed a 74-66 win over the Millsap Bulldogs Tuesday, Feb. 11 on the home court.This placed them just above the 8-6 Comanche and just below the 10-4 Tolar.

Lady Lions battle in Clyde tourney

The Dublin Lady Lions slid into the softball season, playing Glen Rose before appearing in the Clyde Tournament.Feb. 11, the Lady Lions traveled to Glen Rose to play the Tigers. The Dublin girls scored 6 runs by the end while the home team scored 21.

Lions lift to silver at DeLeon

Several Dublin Lion and Lady Lion powerlifters placed high at the DeLeon Invitational Powerlifting meet Feb. 13 with the boys placing 2nd as a team.

Lady Lions end season at home

The Dublin Lady Lions ended their season Feb. 4 on the home court as they hosted Early and held Senior Night festivities (See pictures in this week’s basketball section).The home team fought hard but the visitors claimed the win 52-33.NavaLee White led Dublin scoring with 14.

Lifters place in meets

Dublin Lion and Lady Lion powerlifters had a busy week with appearances at the Justin Monk Invitational in Stephenville on Feb. 5 and the Tribe Classic in Comanche on Feb. 6 with several scoring high enough to earn points for the school.
