BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 67 degrees; 0.43 feet below pool. Black bass to 8.50 pounds are excellent in 1-5 feet of water all around the lake in spawning pockets on Hag’s Tornados, cheat codes in white or green pumpkin, glides baits and Outlier Frogs. Crappie are good to 11 inches on jigs in 2-10 feet. Fish are starting to move shallow. White bass are good to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits late in the day around the lighted docks. Catfish to 8 pounds are slow on jug lines with cut bait and off some of the deeper docks night crawlers and chicken livers.
GRANBURY
GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.14 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures fell to the mid 60s with this last cold snap, but will likely rebound to near 70 degrees by the weekend. Spring fishing patterns are in place. Largemouth bass are close to their spawning grounds and are good on soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Crappie are also in the back of creeks and sloughs and are good on small white/,blue and black jigs or just use a small minnow. Striped bass are close to spawning and are good on large live shad near creek entrances from Decordova Subdivision to Water Edge. Blue catfish are good to 20 pounds plus catches near channel ledges on cut bait.
POSSUM KINGDOM FAIR. Water stained; 66 degrees; 0.49 feet below pool. The water temperature is steady at 60-66 degrees but will rise with warmer weather. Stripers continue to be slow and scattered in 20-40 feet of water on points and ledges. Live bait is the best bet. Sand bass are fair in creeks, but slowing down in the main lake. Target the outside bends and deep holes in the creeks with live shad or small jigs and rattle traps. Catfish are still fair to good with cut shad in 10-15 feet of water or 20-30 feet of water fished on the bottom. Baited holes are your best bet to catch numbers, be sure to wait 2-3 hours before fishing. Use punch bait for best results on baited holes. Water clarity is steady at 1-8 feet of visibility and slightly stained.
PROCTOR
FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.07 feet below pool. Scattered thunderstorms and rain in the weekend forecast. Target catfish with windblown banks and channel edges with fresh bait.
WEATHERFORD
FAIR. Water slightly stained; 64 degrees; 5.21 feet below pool. Crappie are primarily suspended near the dam, but some can be found shallow and in the crappie house. There are still a few in the crappie house and in boat slips. Bass are fair with soft plastics and crankbaits in shallow water near spawning areas. Catfish are slow in deep water and around rocks.
