Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine recently sent out their 2022-23 season preview guide with Dublin Lions predicted to take third in District 5-3A. The publication picked Eastland and Jacksboro for the number one and two spots and Millsap, Comanche and Merkel as places 4, 5 and 6 respectively.

The Dublin Lions 7-on-7 football team ended their season in the top 8 at the state tournament Friday. “It was a good two days,” Coach Greg Hardcastle said of the four winds and two losses the Lions had in the state tournament.

Dublin 7-on-7 Lions rush for a touchdown in the endzone at a recent home game. The Lions are in Bryan, Texas today (June 23 as they make their bid in the State 7-on-7 Championships Tournament. The Dublin boys will be facing Alpine at 1 p.m., Tidehaven at 2:30 p.m. and New Waverly at 4 p.m.

Tarleton Rodeo named national champs again

National Champions. Again. Tarleton State University’s men’s rodeo team added another award this weekend to its already jam-packed trophy case, winning its fourth national crown at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. “It was an exciting week,” said Tarleton rodeo coach Mark Eakin.

Brennan Harris was recently announced as head baseball coach for Dublin High School and he’s looking to build on strengths and capitalize on the previous years’ experience. “We’ve been young the past two years,” Harris said of the roster that included many juniors and sophomores.
