Sales tax up 34% in May

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in May, 34.88% compared to May 2024, according to the state sales tax report released by Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock For the month of May, Dublin received $63,196.13 compared to $46,850.97 in May 2024.

Last week members from the Dublin Police Department, Lieutenant Jennings and Officer Carpenter, along with Dublin EMS Director John Tadlock attended an AAIR Train the Trainer course.

An oversized load got to spend a little extra time in Dublin last week as an incorrect route was taken near the construction on Patrick Street. The truck was so heavy he was unable to turn around on city streets and TxDOT had to bring in a crane to offload his cargo, allowing him to turn around, then reloading his cargo.
