Bradberry Classic strikes up Saturday

The Sound of Dublin and other local bands are tuning up for the 5th Annual Harry Bradberry Marching Contest Saturday, Oct. 4 at Cervetto Field.Each band will perform their routine in preparation for the upcoming Area competition.Admission to the Bradberry Classic is $5 each or $3 for students.

Those who are wanting to register to vote for Constitutional Amendments or for city of Stephenville Mayor on the Nov. 4 ballot only have until Monday, Oct. 6 to make sure they are registered.There are no local races on the November ballot in Dublin.

National Night Out Tuesday

The city’s second annual National Night Out will be coming to a neighborhood near you Tuesday, Oct. 7.The event is set for Perry Hall located at 709 Sheehan Street in Dublin from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

DeLeon Area Historical Society to host fish fry, gun raffle The DeLeon Area Historical Society will be hosting a fish fry and gun raffle from 5-7:30 p.m. (or until they run out) Saturday, Sept. 27 at the DeLeon City Auditorium.

Double N to host Family Fun Day Saturday

Double N Cowboy Church will host a Family Fun Day Saturday, Sept. 27 for its fall series including barrels, poles, misc events, food and drinks. Books open at 9 a.m. with events beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Nominations underway for speaker series

Nominations are being accepted for 2026 distinguished speakers for the Last Lecture series at Tarleton State University. University employees and Stephenville and Erath County community members are invited to submit suggestions, which may be made through Oct. 31 for the spring event.

Stephenville City Council approves significant raises for first responders

Stephenville City Council approved its annual budget Monday, Sept. 22 including a significant increase in salaries for public safety employees.Though all employees are receiving raises, this year’s pay plan is a $1.3 million increase, with $1 million designated to police and fire salary increases.
