CTFAC gallery to focus on foster experience

Caring Hearts for Children, a central Texas foster care and adoption agency, is partnering with the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council to showcase the artwork of those impacted by foster care during an upcoming art exhibit.

April 19 A report was made for a suspicious person walking down the road on the 400 block of Park. A report was made for a verbal disturbance between a male and female on the 500 block of Liveoak. A report was made for a white Lexus swerving and video chatting on Hwy 6.

School Board election Saturday

Dublin voters are casting ballots in Dublin ISD School Board races Saturday. Polls are open at the Erath County Courthouse in Stephenville (100 W. Washington) and the Dublin County Annex (219 S. Grafton) open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day (May 1).

The Erath County community gathered together on April 20 at Stephenville’s Jaycee Park to march to “Stop the Silence.” Advocates, sporting signs of solidarity, gathered in the park and marched to raise awareness to end child abuse, sexual assaults, domestic violence, and violent crimes.

Erath loses local hero

The Erath County community is mourning the loss of a devoted officer and neighbor after Stephenville PD patrol sergeant Steven Watts, 53, died Monday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas surrounded by family and fellow officers.

The Dublin FFA Cotton Judging team finished the year at state competition at Angelo State University, where they placed 19th out of 102 schools. They were also Pecan Valley District Champions and placed 3rd in area to qualify for state. Team members are Wyatt Watson, Joli St.

Erath County officials reported one new case of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday, April 8 that was released the next morning. The new case was from within the city limits of Stephenville. Total deaths since March 2020 were reported at 68 by the Department of State Health Services.
