Lady Cards undefeated

The Lingleville Lady Cardinals volleyball girls were named Bi-District Champions following an Oct. 25 victory over Iredell. The Lady Cards are undefeated in District and 11-9 for the season following a Saturday victory over the Rochelle Hornets in three sets.

Scaring up some funds

Flo from Progressive at Dublin Insurance Agency took home the best business award for the Dublin Public Library’s Scarecrow contest. The contest raised more than $850 for the library to use on various projects, materials and books.

Banquet set for Nov. 12

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce is sharing its gratitude with its members, local businesses and residents at its annual chamber banquet this month. The banquet is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Dublin High School Cafeteria and will showcase a theme of gratitude, blessings and Thanksgiving.

Rodeo museum to host fall fundraiser

The Rodeo Heritage Museum in Dublin is having their major fundraiser of the year this month with its Fall Roundup. The event will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Dublin High School Cafeteria.

Election Day next Tuesday

Election Day for the November 8 mid-term election, which features a slew of candidates including Texas Governor is on the horizon with early voting wrapping up Friday, Nov. 4 in Dublin. Early voting will continue at the Erath County Courthouse this week 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 4.

EDC to stop home grants

The Dublin EDC voted to discontinue its home renovation and historical home grants during the regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Museum Matters

It was Oct. 14, 1854 that settlers first came to this place we now call Dublin. The party of settlers consisted of 13 people. They were Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Dobkins. They came by ox wagons along with their six children.

Police Log

A reporting person advised that a vehicle was stolen in the 300 block of North Park, possibly by an acquaintance. A couple of suspicious vehicles without their lights on were reported in the 200 block of Vine. Officers did not locate any suspicious activity.
