EDC director resigns

The Dublin Economic Development Corporation is on the search for a new executive director after Amy Wright recently resigned. Wright (no relation to former EDC Director Karen Wright) sent in an email resignation Nov. 4. She had started in the position in June 2022.

Comanche Museum to host open house

The Comanche County Historical Museum is happy to invite everyone to join us in Celebration of Christmas and enjoy their open house. The open house will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 “We are so thankful for our friends and volunteers of the Museum.

Community Table serving free meal The Community Table at Dublin First Methodist Church is now serving meals in the fellowship hall as well as performing deliveries. The meals are free to the community the last Wednesday of every month, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Museum Matters

The headline in the Dublin Progress read “A Fatal Tragedy. Constable Adams Shot to Death on the Streets of Dublin. Two Deadly Charges from a Breech loading Shotgun Does the Work. He was killed instantly.” It happened at the corner of Blackjack and Patrick streets around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 18, 1897.
