Trial begins in auditor shooting case

A jury began hearing testimony Monday, July 24 in the trial of Garrett Reeves, 24, who is accused of shooting his father Kent Reeves, current Erath County Auditor. The trial is being held this week in the 266th Judicial District Court with Judge Donald R. Jones presiding.

Burn ban now in effect

A 90-day burn ban was put into effect Monday, July 24 by the Erath County Commissioners Court. This followed a seven day burn ban enacted by Erath County Judge Brandon Huckabee Thursday, July 20. Welding guidelines are included in the ban.

Christian Women’s Job Corporation/ Transformation Pathway will begin their regular training program on Tuesday, August 22. The classes will be each Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and will be seminars on job readiness.

Sometimes it’s good to go with the flow. Just ask Dublin graduate Kimberly Weber. Weber graduated from Dublin High School in 2009 and went on to Texas A&M, where she majored in international studies and communications. She graduated in 2013, but wasn’t immediately sure what she wanted to do next.
