The DeLeon Historical Society is hosting their first annual wine tasting event, A Sip to Preserve History, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the De Leon City Hall. Tickets may be purchased at the museum Wednesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or a board member.

Tarleton to host job fair Aug. 30

Tarleton State University Career Services will host a come-and-go job fair Wednesday, Aug. 30, to connect students with local businesses seeking part-time employees. The job fair starts at 1 p.m. in the Thompson Student Center Ballrooms on the Stephenville campus.

Blood Drive this weekend to benefit little girl

Area residents have a chance to give back this Sunday as the Dublin Rotary Club is hosting a blood drive in honor of 6-year-old Josey Roman of Comanche. Josey does not make blood and is requiring a blood transfusion every two weeks as doctors continue to try to solve her medical issues.

Texas Health improving ORs

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Stephenville announced this week an estimated $12.5 million in renovations to modernize operating rooms. Construction is expected to last 20 to 24 months. There will not be any closures during the renovation.

Emergency services kept busy by wrecks

Emergency services were busy Monday afternoon as two wrecks occurred almost simultaneously. The wreck above occurred on the 377/67 Loop with no serious injuries. Another minor wreck happened on Patrick Street near the carwash when a vehicle rear-ended another. No injuries were reported.
