Filing for ISD, council continues with 1 filer

Filing for local elections for school board and city council are continuing for the May 4 election and both Dublin boards will have opportunities for citizens to serve. Filing is open for local elections through Friday, Feb. 16.

A "Backyard Bird Feeding" program will be presented at the Dublin Library , Saturday, January 27, at 11:00 am.  The whole family is invited.  Learn how to get more birds to your bird feeders.  To register, call the library, 254-445-4141.

Garden Club hears about native plants

The Dublin Garden Club held their regular scheduled meeting Jan. 10, in the fellowship hall of Laurel Street United Methodist Church. Guest speaker was Dr. Marsh Stephens, a Master Naturalist. Dr. Stephens spoke about Texas Native plants and their definitions. If it’s invasive it is not native.

Girl Scout Cookie Season is officially open and those wishing to support Dublin’s Girl Scout Troop 4168 will have several opportunities this season to do so. The Troop will have a booth set up at Brookshire Brothers on Feb. 3 and Feb.

North Park Street was shut down for a period overnight on Tuesday, Jan. 9 while Oncor replaced a severely leaning power pole. After high winds occurred last week, a power pole began leaning on North Park Street. Oncor was on site to replace the pole.
