Dandi-Lions claim honors

Dublin Dandi-Lions claimed best in category and a first division rating in contest Saturday at Lewisville. The drill team was set to perform in the Tarleton Gym on Wednesday, March 2 during Dublin night. Their performance was set for half-time during the women’s game starting at 6 p.m.

Tarleton rodeo 1st and 3rd in opener

Tarleton State University rodeo teams opened the second half of the season on a high note last weekend. The women’s team tied for first place and the men took third in the Odessa College National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Southwest Region event.

Leaping into Regionals

Lingleville Cardinal Caden Howard takes to the air to sink a basket past Cherokee defense in Friday’s Area championship game against Comanche. Lingleville claimed the title 76-42 and was set to face Morgan in Glen Rose on Tuesday in Regional Quarterfinals.

Dublin Lion seniors Cooper Hubble and Tyler Harrell leap through City View offense to attempt two points during the Bi-District playoff Monday night while Lions move to block a pass above. The game ended in a 113-52 loss for the Lions and the end of their season.

Parents address LISD school board

Lingleville School Board members heard from concerned parents before retiring to executive session in a special meeting held Friday. Raina Carpenter spoke on a recording shared online in which a teacher was pushed to their limits and said too “much control was being given to students.

Cards named Bi-District Champs

The Lingleville Cardinals were crowned Bi-District Champions Monday after a 75-31 victory over Walnut Springs. The Cardinals will face Cherokee at Comanche at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25.
