DHS trainer opens lunch counter for athletes

Athletic trainer Alexis Galbreath is working to improve student performance by changing the way students fuel their bodies. Through a new healthy lunch alternative counter at Dublin Secondary, she hopes to help students, especially athletes better prepare for competition and everyday life.

DHS track to send 10 to Area

Dublin High School is sending 10 athletes to the Area Track Meet Thursday, April 16 in Jacksboro after placing high at the District track meet held April 8-9 at Dublin Secondary.Alex Teten placed first in the varsity boys high jump with a height of 6’2”.

Lions net Ws over Early

The Dublin Lions were consistent in back-to-back wins over Early last week, claiming 5-2 victories on Tuesday, April 7 and Friday, April 10.In the home battle April 7 Dublin pitcher struck out 11 batters across 6.3 innings.

Lady Lions honor seniors in final home game

Five Lady Lions were escorted onto the home diamond for the final time as the team hosted senior night Tuesday, April 7.Seniors honored included Cassidy Adair, Yasmin Esparza, Kaylee Hayes, Olivia Salyer and Nomi Thompson. The Lady Lions put up 11 to Comanche’s 21 that night.

DHS boys place 6th in district golf

The Dublin Lions took sixth as a team in the District 8-3A golf tournament at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose.Hayden Milburn, led the Lion swingers, placing 12th and shooting 90 after round 2 on Tuesday, March 30. (Milburn was tied at 9th in round 1 March 29 with 87 strokes.

BROWNWOODWater stained; 54 degrees; 4.77’ low. Largemouth bass are excellent on soft plastics around docks in 10-12 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 15-18 feet. White bass are slow on slabs. Catfish are good on cut carp and jug lines with cut shad or perch.
