Greens Creek Methodist celebrating 150 years

The Greens Creek Methodist Church, currently affiliated with Global Methodist Church, is recognizing their 150th anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.The community is invited to join the congregation for Sunday service at 9 a.m. followed by brunch at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

The Wellness Place in the downtown Blackjack Office Center (126 E. Blackjack) was full of Chamber of Commerce members, neighbors, friends and fans as a ribbon cutting was held Feb. 2 for the new business that fills one hall of the center.

A fire, a community and a reminder of what matters most

Editor’s note: This is a first person account of a fire that occurred over the weekend.An accidental spark from welding equipment ignited dry grass Saturday afternoon, setting off a fast-moving fire that ultimately burned more than 90 acres of pastureland outside Dublin.

Shooting under investigation

The Texas Rangers and Erath County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday, Feb. 5 in Lingleville.Between 7 and 9 p.m.

Filing ends Friday

This week marks the final filing time for local city council and school board races in Dublin and Stephenville.As of press time on Tuesday, no one has filed for Dublin City Council or Mayor although several packets have been picked up.
