The following individuals were indicted on felony charges by the Erath County Grand Jury Sept. 22. Included are: Shawn Allen Bleeker, 44, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, less than one gram, enhanced (State Jail felony); Larry Ray Collins, 69, possession of a substance in penalty group one, less than one gram (State Jail felony); Dezmon Oneal Gassaway, 29, manufacturing or delivery of a substance in penalty group 1, four grams or more, but less than 200 grams, enhanced (First Degree felony) and assault on a public servant (Third Degree felony); Bruce Lemuel Gregory, Jr., 56, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, less than one gram (State Jail felony); Tristan Mykle Jury, 27, manufacturing or delivery of a substance in penalty group 1, one gram or more but less than four grams (Second Degree felony); Nathan Tanner Ledbetter, 23, criminal mischief, more than $2,500, less than $30,000 (State Jail felony); Paul Martin Salinas, 56, possession of a substance in penalty group one, one gram or more but less than four grams, enhanced (Third Degree felony); Dejuan Antonio Taylor, 39, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, less than one gram (State Jail felony); Justin Tyler Williams, 37, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, less than one gram (State Jail felony); and Rickey Wayne Williams, Jr., 42, assault, family violence, occlusion (Third Degree felony).

Hunger Action Month provides opportunities

With September being Hunger Action Month, numerous area clubs and resources are coming together to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action. In conjunction with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, the Woman’s Thursday Club of Dublin recently collected canned food to donate to the First Methodist Church of Dublin’s food pantry.

Tri-County Cattle Gathering

It has been a very rough 2 years for all agriculture producers and for sure it has been hard on livestock producers; it looks like things may finally be headed in the right direction. The recent rains may be proof that EL Nino is finally taking over the weather pattern, which should provide us with much better growing conditions and better frames of mind. To help support everyone that will be attempting to recover from the drought, we have assembled some great speakers to present at our Tri-County Cattle Gathering.

Friday, October 13, 2023, the Texas AgriLife Erath, Commanche and Hamilton County will be hosting the Tri-County Cattle Gathering at the M&P Brangus Ranch (1101 FM 2823, Dublin Tx.) Registration will begin at 11:30 followed with meal provided by local sponsors. The program topics will include Brush & Weed Control in Drought Stress Pastures and Rangelands, Ag & Drought Recovery Economics, Small Grains for Forage In Central Texas, Drought Recovery Tools For Summer Perennials.
