The Bosque River

The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas made a field trip to visit the newly restored home of member Dr. Jana Burch (at left) in Bynum, TX. The home, which is the oldest in Hill County, was built in 1846 and was bought in 1852 by Dr. Burch’s ancestors, James and Isabella Wood.

100 years ago May 13, 1921 Dublin’s Dollar Day was a big success for both merchants and shoppers alike. Dollar Day gained instant popularity after the chamber of commerce worked with merchants to compile a list of special bargains for the day.
