DPS urges to avoid heat

As temperatures rise this summer, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is urging the public to take extra safety precautions to avoid some common heatrelated dangers, especially for vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. “Texas summers heat up quickly.

Community invited to free screening

The community is invited to a free screening of “The Light of Virsa,” a Christian epic produced by the Vining Sisters and scored by 18-year-old Erath resident Diego Campos. The screening will be held Thursday, July 8 at Tarleton’s Clyde H. Wells Auditorium. Merchandise will be sold from 6:30 p.m.

Erath County will be seeing red, white and blue with the return of the annual 4th of July Celebration to Stephenville, with most festivities set for July 3 at Stephenville City Park. Saturday’s festivities kick off with the All-American Parade, beginning at the south entrance of the park at 9 a.m.
