August 22 At 12:29 a.m. man was captured after breaking into a residence on CR 397, his hands were duct taped and he was held at gunpoint until officers arrived. At 5:02 a.m. a vehicle rolled over and through a fence on FM 219 South, unknown injuries. August 26 At 9:18 a.m.

Jeff Slaton of Diamond Cross Rodeo reported the Sept. 11 rodeo set for the Dublin City Park Arena promises to offer some big fun. Diamond Cross is hosting a Hamilton event this weekend with 471 registered contestants, and Slaton expects to see a high level of support here as well.

Dublin drops tax rate

The Dublin City Council officially adopted a decreased tax rate during a special meeting Monday night. The new approved rate was set at $.9001 per $100 valuation, down from the 2020 rate of $.9638.

Citizen closed Monday

The Dublin Citizen will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. All deadlines for advertising and content submission will be Friday at 5 p.m. due to the holiday. —Citizen staff report
