Hico News Review The Hico Tigers opened their season with a 41-0 victory over the Moody Bearcats. A large crowd gathered Aug. 28 for a fundraiser for famed rodeo performer Bobby Kerr, who trains wild mustangs and is also known for providing horse drawn buggy rides through downtown Hico.

CCHF dinner set Sept. 18

Tickets are going fast for the annual Comanche County Healthcare Foundation fundraiser dinner on Sept. 18 that features a prime rib and shrimp dinner and lots of fun with a silent and live auction of unique items. The dinner will be catered by Littlejohn’s at Evans Sale Barn in Proctor.

August 29 At 2:57 p.m. a wrecker was called for a vehicle which left the roadway and struck a tree on Hwy 6 East near CR 304. August 30 At 8:20 a.m. there was a two-vehicle crash on CR 508, no injuries. August 31 At 7:04 a.m.

August 24 A reporting person on N. Patrick advised Dublin PD that someone kept intentionally untying their dog. Dublin PD was notified of someone riding a bike on W. Live Oak and drinking a beer. August 26 A reporting person on Highland Ave.

We are already almost at the end of the 1st six weeks! This has been such a great start to the school year. We have already kicked off fall sports and they have represented Dublin well.

LISD open again after COVID close

Lingleville ISD returned Tuesday from an even more extended Labor Day weekend after having to close its door for a large number of people exposed to COVID-19. “We had over 15 percent of our students out quarantining,” said LISD Superintendent Curt Haley.

Local man indicted in crime ring

A local man was among 101 individuals indicted last month in a cell-phone trafficking conspiracy investigation that was worked on by many federal, state and city law enforcement agencies.
