April 5 At 8:21 p.m. a three-vehicle accident happened at the Hwy 377 Loop and FM 219 North, unknown injuries. April 6 At 5:48 p.m. ten loose cows and one bull were reported penned from the day before on CR 225, awaiting owner. At 6:38 p.m. a 4-wheeler was noticed missing from a property on CR 180.

Dublin sales down in Feb.

Dublin sales tax collections was down around 20% in February 2022 compared to February 2021, according to the March state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. This was an exception to reports over the last couple of years which have mostly been up or about the same.

Radio in Dublin, may have started with Guy Neel, the son of the editor of the Dublin Telephone newspaper. He started experimenting with sending and receiving radio transmissions as early as 1909 and 1910 with his state of the art equipment.

Arrest made in shooting of auditor

Erath County officers have arrested Garrett Dale Reeves, 22, in connection with the April 9 shooting of Erath County and Hamilton County Auditor Kent Dale Reeves, 62 (the defendant’s father). According to an arrest affidavit prepared by Texas Ranger B.J.

Dublin grows by annex

The Dublin City Council officially annexed nearly 39 acres of land on the north side of town following a public hearing in which no comments were issued Monday night.

DISD remembers Big Eddie

On Monday afternoon, a crowd of parents, students, and Dublin ISD staff gathered on Bob and Norma Cervetto Field to release balloons in honor of DHS student Eddie Hernandez’s 16th birthday.
