Sales tax up in February

Dublin sales tax collections were up significantly in March based on sales in February, with a 32.39% increase.The city saw March sales at $56,486.27 compared to $48,664.77, according to the state sales tax report released by Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.

Recent rainfall improved soil moisture and accelerated pasture growth. Perennial grasses and weeds responded quickly, though high fertilizer costs limited applications. Wheat advanced rapidly toward maturity, while corn recovered from earlier freeze damage.

County receives clean audit

Erath County received a clean audit after its annual financial report by Eide Bailey.At the Monday, April 27 meeting, representatives from Eide Bailey reviewed the audit with the county and delivered an “unmodified” opinion, which is the best outcome that can be received on an audit.
