Folklore Society seeking submissions

The Texas Folklore Society, a partner of Tarleton State University, is currently seeking submissions for a book highlighting legends in Texas and the Southwest.Legends are short stories that are presented as true and recount incidents that are miraculous, bizarre, uncanny or humorous.

Humane Society to host fundraiser Saturday

The Erath County Humane Society is staying busy expanding their offerings for kitties and several fundraisers designed to fund new facilities.Recently, the Humane Society opened Whisker Haven, a separate facility just for cats.

Dublin High School graduates, friends and family visit with one another at the annual Hearts & Home Dublin Area Reunion, hosted by the Dublin Historical Society. The event is sponsored by First National Bank and allows all classes the chance to see old friends, and make some new ones.

For two years, Erath County’s Community Resource Paramedic program has helped save lives – not just with medicine but by putting the pieces together to help solve difficult patient situations.

Peaceful protest draws crowd

Events over the weekend gave Erath County residents along with the surrounding area the ability to exercise their First Amendment right to peacefully protest.

Lingleville sisters compete in state rodeo

“To be there competing with the best in Texas is something I do not take for granted,” said 16-year-old Alexa Aviles of Lingleville.Alexa and her sister, Mya, 14, both qualified for state finals in rodeo, showcasing the experience they’ve earned since they first got on horseback at young ages.
