Dublin FCCLA had two teams place in the top 5 at state competition in Dallas April 12-14.

The Lions followed this with a closely fought 1-0 loss to Breckenridge Friday, April 12. “We played lights out but we just couldn’t get a hit,” said Morris who also boasted only 2 errors for his team.

Most of the bass are spawning or post spawn. Crappie are excellent suspended in cove pockets with black and chartreuse jigs and brush piles on minnows in 10-12 feet, with some in 1-4 feet spawning. The deep fish are still full of eggs. White bass are good on crankbaits and small swimbaits in the lights. Catfish are good on cut or prepared bait around the flats

The Dublin Lady Lions racked up hits and homers in a high scoring loss to Early on April 2 on the Dublin Diamond. Cassidy Adair cracked 3 hits in 3 at-bats, which included a solo home run to left field.

Dublin Lions logged losses to Peaster and Early last week, but head baseball coach Corde Morris is encouraged to see the players keep their heads up and fighting until the end. “It’s encouraging to see what kids are doing,” he said.

Dublin High School hosted seven other teams April 3-4 for the UIL 3A-District 8 track meet. DHS is advancing five varsity tracksters to Area competition and had several place high in JV.
