Comanche hosting Quanah Parker Day

Body

On Saturday, September 11, the Comanche County Historical Museum will be celebrating Quanah Parker Day beginning at 10 a.m. In 2019 Texas Governor Greg Abbott designated the second Saturday in September as Quanah Parker Day. Quanah Parker (1850- 1911), son of Peta Nocona and Cynthia Ann Parker, was the last Comanche War Chief. Quanah Parker artifacts will be on exhibit at the Museum with Lee White, a Native American Indian and Museum Board member, present to share information related to the artifacts. Other special guests are expected to be present. The Museum invites all to attend this special day. We also invite you to use our new south gate on the frontage road.

The Museum County Historical Society and Museum, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and operates solely on the generous donations of visitors.

The Museum is located at 402 Moorman Road in Comanche, Texas 76442 (just west of the Bayer GMC on Hwy 67/377 and Hwy 36) and is open Wednesday thru Saturday from 10a.m. to 4p.m.
