A History of the P&M Festival

DeLeon’s Peach & Melon Festival was taken from materials gleaned from the DeLeon Free Press and from an article in DeLeon’s Monitor, believed to have been written by Phil Tate, that were eventually compiled by Jerry Morgan. However, the article has been shortened and revised for space purposes.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

July 24 At 1:03 a.m. a man called 911 after running into a ditch and hitting a fence on Hwy 6 East. He was arrested for DWI. At 4:43 p.m. a cow has been penned for 3 or 4 days on CR 213, awaiting owner. At 7:56 p.m.

A special end of Summer Reading event

Staff members of Erath County’s STAR Council led local kids in arts and crafts projects at Foster’s Home for Children last week as they held the rescheduled Bosque Safari Camp.

DISD offers free, reduced price meals for ‘21-’22

Dublin ISD announced recently that this school year (2021-2022), healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

Fans TEE up for Dublin PRIDE

Dublin Lions parents, staff and fans took to PAR Country Club Saturday to golf “fore” a cause in the 8th annual Dublin Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament benefitting Dublin High School Athletics. Teams in the four-person scramble enjoyed a full 18 holes of golf as well as breakfast and lunch.

More than 40 kids and adults gathered on the Dublin Public Library lawn Thursday for a presentation from Mrs. B, the Creature Teacher in conjunction with the ‘Tales and Tails’ Summer Reading program.
