Dublin Band marching to Area

    The Sound of Dublin band is marching its way to Area competition in Denton on Saturday, where they will perform at 9:45 a.m.

    They earned their spot on the schedule after scoring a Division 1 rating at their UIL region marching contest on Saturday, October 16, in Mineral Wells.

    Area B marching contest will be held at C.H. Collins athletic complex in Denton on Saturday, October 23rd.

    While everyone who scores a Division 1 rating in Region gets to advance, Dublin will be competing against other bands from the area on Saturday.

    “If 20 or more bands qualify, then 10 bands will advance to finals that evening for a shot at advancing to the State marching contest in San Antonio,” explained Dublin ISD Band Director Ronny Luedke.

    “This is the second consecutive time that the band has advanced to area competition,” Luedke said, referring to their advancement during the 2019 season. “Out of our 55 students, only nine of those have ever competed in UIL marching contest before this past Saturday! We are super proud of all of our kiddos and this amazing accomplishment!”
