BROWNWOOD
Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 0.45 feet low. The water is beginning to cool down, and we should see Fall fishing patterns coming soon. Largemouth bass are good with perch like crankbaits, brown or green Texas-rigged plastic worms, chartreuse bladed spinners, and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings. White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass. Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait.
GRANBURY
Water lightly stained; 70 degrees; 0.06 feet low. Follow bird action to track down feeding schools of fish. Fishing pattern remains steady as we head into fall. Recent reports of sand bass are good using slabs on mainly mid-lake from Decordova Estates to in town by The Shores. Black bass reporting as good to 7-pounds on crankbaits, and soft plastics fished near main lake points and near deeper shaded docks. Striped bass are good to 10-pounds fished near channel ledges close to feeding flats from Indian Harbor to Blue Water Shores. Catfish continue to be good to excellent on cut shad all over the lake. Crappie limits are common on small minnows and jigs fished from the Peninsula to the 51 bridge.
POSSUM KINGDOM
Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.47 feet low. Striped bass are good on jigs while trolling. Some striper action on live bait, but not reeling in the most success at the moment. Sand bass are schooling on the surface late in the evening on the north end of the lake. Catfish can be found in heavy brush using cut bait. Crappie bite is fair.
PROCTOR
Water lightly stained; 71 degrees; 0.88 feet low. Hybrid Stripers and white bass are good midday on slabs. Live bait is slow. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair in 12-15 feet of water on minnows. Catfish are goo, drifting mid-lake using cut shad.
WEATHERFORD
Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 1.81 feet low. Largemouth bass are fair on swimbaits, flukes, drop shots, shaky head jigs, and diving crankbaits near fallen timber and rocky shorelines. White bass are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait. Crappie are fair on minnows around docks, creeks, and submerged cover. Catfish are good on chicken liver, live, and cut bait.
