Dairy Center celebrates 10 years

In 2011 Tarleton State University’s Southwest Regional Dairy Center welcomed elected officials, Tarleton administrators, higher-ups in The Texas A&M University System and dairy industry dignitaries to its gala grand opening.

Where Are They Now?

Aldo Herrera has only been out of high school for a few years, but already he’s found a career he loves — working in the wind industry as a tower climber. The job is hard work and means Herrera spends a lot of time away from home, but he enjoys the experience of learning something new every day.

COVID Update

Erath County officials reported that the county had 16 active cases of COVID-19 in its Monday night report. This was down from 22 active cases reported by county officials on the Monday before. See the accompanying graphic for a list of active cases by location, age group and gender.

Next Market Days set Nov. 20

Dublin Market Days will set up in Wright Park, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Plan to stop by and find those special extras for Thanksgiving and beyond. There will be a variety of scrumptious breads, conserves and other goodies. The Dublin Market attracts vendors from a broad area and of many stripes.

FBC hosting mobile food pantry

First Baptist Church of Dublin is hosting the Tarrant Area Food Bank Mobile Pantry every 1st Thursday of the month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the church parking lot. —submitted

Time to register for PeeWee Basketball

It’s time for Basketball PeeWee Basketball Season and registration is officially open! Deadline to register your 1st-6th grade child is Nov. 12. Forms were sent home with Dublin students this week. Parents can swing by any time at Granny Clark’s or The Wicked Clover and grab them in person.

Lone Star Iris Society to meet Nov. 6

The Lone Star Iris Society is looking forward to our November meeting. Our meeting will be held November 6, 12 noon, at the Hico Community Center, 102 N. Railroad, Hico, Texas.

Quilt of Valor Ceremony set Nov. 11

A Quilt of Valor ceremony hosted by the Dublin Historical Museum will be held at 6 pm on November 11 to honor two Vietnam veterans by presenting them with original, homemade quilts. The Quilt of Valor Foundation was established in 2003 by a mother of a deployed soldier in Iraq.
