A new 24/7 laundromat is now open in Comanche at 707 E. Central.

A candidate forum, moderated by the Comanche County Law Enforcement Association, will be held at the Comanche Community Center on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

four Hamilton County residents have filed for Hamilton County Judge in the March 1 primary. They are: Robert Looney, Charles Puff, Mark Sellers and James Yates.

Hamilton student Hannah Ward, 12, was headed to the big stage this week as she played Alice in Matilda the Musical at Fort Worth’s Casa Manana. Ward previously graced the stage in Hamilton Civic Theatre’s 2018 performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Veruca Salt.

Hico was placed on a boil water notice that was expected to last most of last week following a water main break. The break occurred between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23 at the intersection of First and Mesquite Streets, with crews working from the early hours through most of the day to get water flowing again. Water was determined safe for washing but needed to be boiled before consumption. TCEQ mandates that water must good on tests for three consecutive days before a boil water notice is lifted.

Zaylyn Bain, a freshman at DeLeon High School, was selected to area Band and placed 14th as he tried out for All State Band.

The DeLeon ISD School Board voted to rebuild the visitor bleachers after being informed that the bleachers had been deemed unsafe with multiple holes and metal work that is full of water that hasn’t been able to drain out.
