Keep Dublin Beautiful is looking for volunteers to adopt some of the big pot planters downtown along Patrick St. Beautiful flowers and greenery in these pots help to show visitors we care about our city. Adopt a pot, create a pleasing planting, and keep the welcoming green going through the summer.

Local man dies in fire

A local 67-year-old male died Monday, Feb. 5 off CR 307 as the result of a medical incident that occurred while he was tending a brush pile. According to information released by the Erath County Sheriff ’s Department, no criminal offense occurred.

Boxing tourney on tap Saturday

Hometown Heroes Boxing Tournament, presented by Stephenville Boxing Club and sanctioned by USA Boxing, will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. in the main gym of Henderson Junior High in Stephenville.

Jan. 22 A reporting person in the 200 block of Shamrock has legal questions and requested a call back. A vehicle crashed into a yard in the 400 block of Blackjack and left the scene. The caller had the vehicle on her Ring camera.

Filing continues for local ISD, city council seats

Filers for local elections for school board and city council are continuing to come in for the May 4 election and both Dublin boards will have opportunities for citizens to serve. Filing is open for local elections through Friday, Feb. 16.

Gordon Center to host museum after dark

Tarleton State University’s W. K. Gordon Center for the Industrial History of Texas will host Museum After Dark, a twilight scavenger hunt, at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1.
