Republican candidate Valerie Stephen will officially face off against Democratic candidate Marycruz Serrano in the November 5 General Election in the office of Erath County Tax Assessor-Collector.

In the May 28 Republican Primary runoff, Stephen received 850 votes (50.57%) while Niki McInroe-Cogburn received 831 votes (49.43%). There were 45 undervotes. Undervotes are done when eligible voters choose not to cast a vote in that race or accidentally do not cast a vote correctly.

Also on the ballot was a runoff between Sherman L. Edwards and Ben Clements for Precinct 3 County Commissioner.

In the race, Edwards was declared the winner with 514 votes (69.65%), while Clements received 224 votes (30.35%). There is no Democratic nominee in this race, so Edwards will take office in January 2025.
