LISD appoints committee in Supt. search

Lingleville ISD has begun its search for a new superintendent following last month’s announcement that Curt Haley would be retiring from the position at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. A special meeting was held April 1 to determine the manner in which the board would pick the predecessor.

DHS golfers end season

The Dublin High School golf athletes ended their season last week, showing much improvement, although none of the players advanced to Regionals. Boys Coach Wes Grisham reported Ty Roberts led the Lions in shooting at the District tournament at The Hideout in Brownwood.

Inaugural tourney draws 49

The inaugural Mike McFarland Golf Tournament was held Saturday at PAR Country Club, raising $3400 to be presented in scholarships to be presented to seniors in the Dublin ISD golf program.

BROWNWOOD Water stained; 55-61 degrees; 2.37 feet low. Bass are good with catches up to 3 pounds on chatterbaits, crankbaits and shaky heads. Bass are shallow in water less than four feet. White bass are good on slabs and small jigs. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs in 5-15 feet of water.

LISD hosting Registration for Pre-K/K today

Lingleville ISD is holding its Pre-K and New Kindergarten Registration today (April 7) on campus from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Parents should report to main entrance at Lingleville Junior High.

Tarleton golf adds grad transfer

Head coach Chance Cain is adding a bit of everything to the new Tarleton men’s golf program. The Texans have international flavor, young athletes, and even a touted transfer. Now they’re adding experience, bringing in their first graduate transfer, Masen Ward.

Patel headed to Regionals in tennis

DHS is sending Ayush Patel to Regionals following a first place finish at district competition at Brock last week. He will play in the next round on Monday at Rose Park in Abilene with the tournament starting at 8 a.m.

DHS to host District meet

Dublin High School is host the District 8-3A Track and Field Meet at Bob and Norm Cervetto Field on Wednesday and Thursday, April 13-14. The schedule is as follows: Wednesday, April 13 2 p.m.

A referee

A referee confirms an out for Dublin as Lion Cooper Pickett stretches for the out while keeping his foot on first base. The out was madde Friday as the Lions hosted the Brock Eagles in a 13-1 loss on the Dublin diamond. This followed a 13-1 home loss to the Early Longhorns on March 29.
