CCHF fundraiser on tap Sept. 17

Preparations for the 17th Annual Comanche County Healthcare Foundation (CCHF) fundraiser are underway with tickets being sold and items for the live and silent auctions being sought. The dinner and live auction event will take place Saturday, Sept.

Police Log

A reporting person requested a criminal trespass due to damages the people caused to her house. There was a report of a reckless driver failing to maintain a lane on West Blackjack. A person was reported for sleeping in a tent. They were advised to move the tent by the next day.

Bright new year

Students get ready for the fi rst day of school with a backto-school photo with their parent. Students are cheered on by Dublin High School and Tarleton Dance students on the first day of school.

What a miserable summer we have had, it has really been too hot to do much walking or outside exercise. With September just around the corner, we can hope for cooler temperatures maybe by the middle of the month. At the very least the evenings and mornings will be much nicer.

Dairy farmers serve communities

Since 2013, Dairy MAX has partnered with local blood centers during National Dairy Month to host Passion for Pints blood drives. Blood donations are needed most during the summer months due to highschoolsanduniversities that typically host drives being closed.

Crop Report

AgriLife Extension district reporters compiled the following summary for the Central Texas district: Hot, dry conditions continued. Soil moisture levels were very short. Corn harvest was almost complete with few remaining fields, with reduced yields reported. Cotton continued to hang on.

Senior center out of retirement as office space

The former senior citizens center located at 202 E. Clinton is seeing new life as it is turned into rentable office spaces. Owner Mack Stewart has been renovating the large building over the past few months and is turning the space into individual offices people can rent.

Dublin Jr. High News

We have started the new year and are already off to a great start. JH students get to pick various classes, including Athletics, Band, PE, Dance, Theater, Art, and Yearbook/Animation. Football, volleyball, and cross country have already started practicing.
