3 fatalities in area over weekend

Department of Public Safety officers reported three Erath Count accidents involving fatalities over the weekend. On Friday, Sept. 9 at approximately 3:15 a. m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a fatality crash on US 377, six miles northeast of Stephenville.

Scarecrows to raise funds for library

Dublin Public Library is inviting the community to join in the fall spirit with a Build Your Own Scarecrow contest benefitting the local library. The cost is $50 for businesses and $25 for residents to enter. Deadline to enter is Oct. 3 and all scarecrows must be designed and displayed by Oct.

DPD swears in Sells

Dublin Police Department officially welcomed Quinten Sells as its newest officer as he was sworn-in Friday, Sept. 9. Sells’ road to this new post has been winding but it came very naturally. “My family are all firefighters,”said the Plainview native.

The Bosque River Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will have their first meeting of the 20222023 season on Tuesday, September 13 at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Stephenville. Members are asked to bring a family heirloom with a written description.

Comanche Museum hosting Quanah Parker Day On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 the Comanche County Historical Museum will be celebrating Quanah Parker Day beginning at 10 a.m. In 2019 Texas Governor Greg Abbott designated the second Saturday in September as Quanah Parker Day.

Democrat candidate tour set Saturday

The local community is invited to a Candidates Tour on Saturday, September 10, 2022, with The Democratic Nominees for the November 8th General Election. The tour stops at noon at the Comanche Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, 304 S. Austin Street, Comanche, TX, and at 3 p.m.
