40+ sales in town this weekend

More than 40 local businesses and residents will be offering up treasures this weekend as the City-Wide Garage Sale returns May 2728. The annual feature will give Dubliners a chance to sell some unneeded items before the Dublin Cleanup returns on June 3.

Pool opening with new rules

It was announced that the Dublin City Pool will have stricter guidelines to adhere to new state guidelines as the pool sets to open Saturday, May 27. Chief among the new rules is that any child under 14 must have adult supervision when in the pool.

School's out for summer!

Texas Steak Cookoff May 20

The Texas Steak Cookoff is quickly approaching and citizens are invited to come on over to Hico for some great food, fun and music. The event begins Friday, May 19 with a cookoff kickoff party with the Burger Bash and Street Dance. The Original Texas Steak Cookoff event begins at 10 a.m.

Back in 1953, Jim Bradberry had been in the horse shoeing business since 1918. As a young man, he started by doing odd jobs at a livery stable for E. A. Powell and slowly moved up to being a full blacksmith. When he started, he could buy 100 pounds of horse shoe nails for 90 cents.

Ladies of the Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club met in the Clay Room of the Dublin Public Library on Thursday, May 11 for their last meeting before the summer hiatus. Seventeen members and two guests gathered at 4 p.m.

Proctor VFD to host fish fry

Proctor Volunteer Fire Department is seeking community support while flipping some fish for funds with its annual fish fry fundraiser Saturday, June 3. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a live auction and raffle drawing at 7 p.m. The meal is by donation only.

Police Log

May 1 A reporting person stopped by station to speak to an officer about a civil matter. There was a report of two dogs out running the streets with no collars. The call was referred to animal control.
