The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club certainly has been busy!First, Erynn Sprouse and Denise Weems presented a report, on a hot and windy day, Thursday, April 10, in the side patio of Denise Weems’ house.
Community members from throughout Erath County gathered at the courthouse in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 1 to celebrate National Day of Prayer. Groups went to all four corners of Stephenville to pray over the community as part of the event. National Day of Prayer was established in 1988 by Congress stating the first Thursday of May specifically specifying “the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.” Courtesy photo

800 tires hit the road

800 tires hit the road

The city of Dublin got things rolling early Saturday, May 3 in its tire disposal event at the public works yard as residents brought old tires by the trailer load and filled up the provided container within the first two hours. More than 800 junk tires were gathered and removed from the city.

Currys cater to community clothes

Darrell Curry said the opening of the Suds & More Laundromat was another step in continuing his family’s legacy.“My grandmother (Esta Sarringer) had one and I always thought it was cool,” he said. Curry remembered helping count quarters at the Laundromat located by Ivie’s 7-11 when he was young.
