There was a report of gun shots in the area by City Park in the 200 block of Highland. An officer in the area heard a gun fire off in the distance and went to CR 340 where there were several fields outside the city limits where dove were flying. It was determined someone was dove hunting and the echo from the shots were being heard in town.

Fatality claims one

A young driver was killed in a single vehicle accident over the weekend. Tyson James Wofford, 19, of De Leon was killed in the crash on State Highway 16, 5.4 miles northeast of Comanche around 4:30 a.m.

Ring dedicated to historical museum

Sandra Hammons, the niece of World War II veteran Noel Shoup, recently presented the Dublin Historical Museum with the veteran’s 1936 Dublin High School Class Ring. The ring was recovered with Shoup’s remains in France after more than 79 years. Historian Ben Pate accepted the ring on behalf of the museum.
