Sales Tax holiday timed for back-to-school

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently reminded shoppers they can save money on clothes and school supplies during the state’s sales tax holiday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6-8.

Dublin ISD to provide school supplies for '21-'22

Dublin ISD announced last week that all school supplies for all students, PreK-12, for the 2021- 2022 school year will be provided. Superintendent Melissa Summers stated, “All our students will need to bring is a backpack, and we will fill it with everything they need.

Swindle Jewelry was a wonderful business in Dublin. If you needed a Christmas gift or something for a birthday, people could always find the perfect item to give. Grady Swindle early in life had problems with arthritis which crippled him.

Comanche Chief The harvesting of The harvesting of watermelons was photographed on the front page. Employees for Sorrells Farms and Stephens Farm were pictured bringing in this year’s watermelon crop with the melons from Stephens Farms being shipped throughout the state and nationwide.

100 years July 22, 1921 Two carloads of watermelons grown in Dublin were shipped to St. Louis. Twenty car loads of watermelons were expected to be shipped, which was the entire crop of watermelons.
