Many times, as a groundwater conservation district we focus on brush control as a water conservation practice, but due to recent fire outbreaks the topic lends itself to more than just saving water.

March 29 Dublin PD was advised of three loose dogs by the train tracks behind the tax office on S. Grafton. A caller requested a criminal trespass on a subject that kept going through dumpsters in the 400 block of S. Patrick. March 30 Dublin Police arrested a subject for a felony warrant.

April 5 At 8:21 p.m. a three-vehicle accident happened at the Hwy 377 Loop and FM 219 North, unknown injuries. April 6 At 5:48 p.m. ten loose cows and one bull were reported penned from the day before on CR 225, awaiting owner. At 6:38 p.m. a 4-wheeler was noticed missing from a property on CR 180.

Dublin sales tax collections was down around 20% in February 2022 compared to February 2021, according to the March state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. This was an exception to reports over the last couple of years which have mostly been up or about the same.

The Dublin High School One Act Play team will host a free public performance of their regional-qualifying play, “The Book Of Everything” on Monday at 7 p.m. in the old school auditorium (419 N. Camden). —Citizen staff report

Radio in Dublin, may have started with Guy Neel, the son of the editor of the Dublin Telephone newspaper. He started experimenting with sending and receiving radio transmissions as early as 1909 and 1910 with his state of the art equipment.
