Irish Stampede returns June 11

Dublin Lions Club is hosting the 21st annual Irish Stampede the second weekend in June in honor of local dairy farmers since June is dairy month. The run - a 10-5-2K race, will be on a certified course with the 10 and 5K races to start at 7:30 a.m.

The City of Dublin is giving citizens a chance to participate in a City-Wide Garage sale this weekend May 27-29, right before the city hosts the return of the popular Dublin Clean citywide clean up on June 4.

Special to the Citizen It was the biggest and most spectacular parade that Dublin had ever seen. It had bands, floats and groups displaying their patriotic best. The US Government preparing for World War I had asked that towns to have meetings and other activities to spur patriotic feelings.

Weekend of fun set for Dublin

Dublin is facing a big weekend with the grand opening/reopening of five businesses, the chance to win a 65 inch TV, the opening of the city pool and a City-Wide Garage Sale. (See Page B6 for more info on garage sale.) Ribbon cutting will be held regularly starting at 9 a.m.

Memorial Day event set for Library

A Flag Raising Service will be held Monday at the Veteran’s Memorial at the Dublin Public Library in observance of Memorial Day. The 9 a.m. service will honor those who have lost their lives while serving their country in the military.
