July 11 An officer checked on a stranded motorist in the 700 block of North Camden that ran out of gas. They were able to get the truck out of the roadway and to a gas pump. A person reported items stolen out of her truck in the 200 block of Blackjack.

LISD hires four

Lingleville ISD School Board approved four contracts and pledged its continuing support of the Lingleville Athletic Booster Club during a brief regular meeting Thursday, July 21.

CCMC hosting sitting class

CCMC is holding its second training course on safe babysitting. The Babysitters Club happens Aug. 1-2, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Comanche County. The two-day course, for youth age 12-18, costs $30 and includes lunch both days. Participants learn CPR, first aid, meal prep, safety and security, and much more.

DISD hosts Pre-K/kinder registration on Aug. 3

Dublin Elementary School is hosting registration for pre-K, kindergarten and new students on Aug. 3. Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the elementary library. For pre-K, students must be 4 years old on or before Sept.

DeLeon Peach & Melon Returns Aug. 3-6

The DeLeon Peach and Melon Festival returns Aug. 3-Aug. 6 promising a full schedule of fun. This year’s entries include: Wednesday, Aug. 3 ■ 11 a.m. Judging of 4-H cake entries (Festival stage) ■ Noon Judging of peach desserts (Festival stage) ■ 1 p.m.
