Dublin FFA was well-represesented at the State Career and Leadership Development Events (CDE) at Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday with two teams placing high. Placing fifth was the entemology team (left) of Mariana Ortiz and Alma Holguin (12th and 16th individually, NavaLee White and Anabel Phelps.

Museum Matters

When automobiles were starting to become popular, there were a number of manufacturers building them. Many of these early brands went out of business and have been lost in history. One of these early brands was the Saxon. Pipes and Keith was an early dealership here in Dublin in 1917.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas

The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas held their April meeting on April 11 in Stephenville. The program was “Texas Music” presented by the Stephenville Music Club led by club president Kelly Nance. The club’s theme for 2023 is “A Toast to Texas” .

April 3 A caller in the 600 block of Ireland advised she has a criminal trespass on a female and someone told her that she was driving past the house and she isn’t home. An officer was out patrolling and made contact with a teenager and a large dog. Officer advised the dog had to be on a leash.

Thursday club learns community history

The Woman’s Thursday Club met at the Dublin Historical Museum Thursday, April 13. Now boasting 19 members, 15 of those ladies were present with speaker Ben Pate and special guest Lanora Davidson also attending.

After a devastating car accident in 2011, doctors told Dublin graduate Tyler Tuck he would never walk again. Tuck would not be discouraged, though. Through months of work and determination, he finally proved the doctors wrong. That perseverance has been a theme throughout Tuck’s life.

Erath property values to increase

Erath County Appraisal District is on schedule to mail out just over 20,000 appraisal notices on April 1, 2023 according to Jonathan Pringle, Chief Appraiser.
