Dublin High School students and guests crowded the floor at the Double N Cowboy Church on May 13 as they did the Cupid Shuffle (above) and two-stepped to Copperhead Road (below). The church was expertly decorated to its Masquerade theme with dynamic lighting and decorations.

Sales tax down slightly in March

Dublin sales tax collections were down in March, at -2.53% lower compared to March 2022, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. For the month of March 2023, Dublin received $61,008.94, compared to $62,594.52 in March 2022.

WMU revived in Dublin

Through a partnership with Transformation Pathway (Dublin’s Christian Women’s Job Corps ministry), a new branch of the Woman’s Missionary Union has begun to meet the second Thursday of every month at noon.

We have finally started to receive some excellent and much needed moisture. The rainfall is making an incredible difference for our pastures and hay meadows. I hope everyone had their fertilizer out and was able to take full advantage of the rainfall.

Rainfall helps across state

Soil moisture conditions around much of the state improved slightly over recent weeks, and there is hope that drought conditions might break in time to plant row crops and enough to sustain them to harvest, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts.

Dublin High School students celebrated at a Masquerade themed prom Saturday, May 13 at the Double N Cowboy Church. Many students donned fancy masks for the event. Lingleville students also celebrated their prom on Saturday.
