ATV accident kills one

A Dubliner was killed in an ATV accident last week.According to information released by the Texas Department of Transportation, the accident occurred at 1:46 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Comanche County on County Road 436, 3.2 miles west of Proctor.

Erath named in pole replacement program

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently announced an initial award of about $18.5 million in grant funding benefiting 17 counties across the state as part of the Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program.

TFB preps policy decisions for annual meeting

Feral hogs, mountain lions, water and foreign ownership of agricultural land were among the topics of proposed policy resolutions discussed by the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Resolutions Committee Nov. 4-5 in Waco.
Hundreds turned out for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by American Legion Post No. 240 – Turnbow-Higgs at the Erath County Courthouse square Monday, Nov. 11. Donors take generosity to new heights

As the performers were warming up at JE Arena Thursday, Nov. 7 for the 2024 Big Brothers Big Sisters Erath County Dancing for the Stars, the audience was challenged with matching the amount the nonprofit receives in state funding.

Election boasts 71% voter turnout

Seventy-one percent of Erath County voters showed up to vote during the Nov. 5 General Election.It was also the first time that Erath County’s official Elections Office handled an election.
