Hico News Review The Hico School Board election will take place on Nov. 3 in line with the Presidential, National and State elections. The original date of the School Board election was May 2, but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oct. 4-10 is Fire Prevention Week

October 4-10, 2020, is National Fire Prevention Week. Fire Prevention Week has been an annual event in the U.S. since 1925 and it was President Calvin Coolidge that made the first proclamation. The week is held in October to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

Electronics recycling event set Oct. 23-24

A free electronic recycling event is open to Erath County residents with drop-off locations scheduled for Dublin and Stephenville. Dublin residents will be able to drop off old and outdated electronics locally in the Dublin Annex parking lot (219 S. Grafton) on Friday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Candidate speaks in Comanche County

Jon Mark Hogg, candidate for U. S. Congress in TX-11, visited with voters in De Leon, on Saturday, October 3. District TX-11 covers 29 counties, including parts of Erath County. The discussion began with school choice.
