Erath County officials reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday night (Nov. 5). Fourteen of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville and one was from Dublin.

 

Total deaths since March were elevated to 18 to reflects numbers from the state.  Erath County Emergency Management Coordinator Susan Driskill previously reported that the county is using the same number as the Department of State Health Services since Erath is no longer receiving any information on COVID deaths.

 

The number of total cases increased by 89 in the past week, standing at 1,071 in the Oct. 29 report and 1,160 a week later. 

 

Active cases increased from 144 to 173 in the past week while recovered cases increased from 912 on Oct. 29 to 969 in the report from Thursday night.

 

Seven new hospitalizations were reported this week to increase the number of hospitalizations since March to 47.

 

County officials remind residents that according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are things everyone can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

-Wear a face covering in public 

-Stay six feet apart 

-Wash or sanitize hands often 

-If sick, get tested and stay at home 

-Stay home when possible
